I have only fairly recently come to realise the value non-Christians place on believers praying for them. Nightline attracts a steady stream of such requests, and in the market place, when I offer to pray, it is almost always immensely well received. In fact non-Christians place a very high value on it.

A SEASON OF PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

With the election outcome still undecided we request that our members continue to uphold the process in prayer until all counting and negotiations are complete and a new Government put in place.

Please pray:

* for those involved in the negotiations to form a new Government namely Julia Gillard, Tony Abbott, Bob Katter, Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott. Pray for divine wisdom to be given to each during the negotiations.

* that negotiations will be conducted with integrity and that the best interests of the nation over and above party or personal interests will be reflected in the final outcome of the negotiations.

* that the election outcome which has resulted in the current situation will be used by God to bring about His perfect will for our nation.

Dear Friends,

Thought you might like to be updated on this amazing thing the Lord is allowing us to do here. Most of you know a little bit about it but in case you missed out on the first round, here you are.

When we heard that CHOGM, the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting would be held in our city in October 2011, we felt to host an international prayer gathering, inviting people from all 54 Commonwealth nations.

That started us on a journey that has just exploded.

Someone suggested we found 54 churches in our city to each take a different nation and pray for it for a year so that when the governmental leaders arrive in our city, which is called the city of Light, then they would have a smooth, safe and very productive meeting, causing major shifts towards godliness and righteousness.

Then some prayer leaders around the nations said they too would like to get their nation on board. So now several other Commonwealth nations are taking part by recruiting 54 churches (at least) to each choose a nation and then sending some delegates to the Commonwealth Christian Assembly in late August or early September 2011.

Then the Lord asked us to also invite local Christian schools to take part and that is happening.

We have informed our Prime Minister, The Governor General of Australia and other dignitaries of our intentions.

(Of course now, we are facing here in Australia a possible change in leadership...pray the outcome will bring greater righteousness!)

Please see the attached document with more information.

Blessings,

Wendy Yapp
