BUILD ON UNSHAKABLE FOUNDATION

Tragic as it is the Chilean earthquake which came a month after the devastating Haitian earthquake brought considerably less loss of life and property despite the greater magnitude of destructive force that had struck Chile. It is becoming obvious that the state of preparedness the Chileans had for event like this had paid off. Strict building codes, earthquake drills and the built up of emergency funds may be taxing but so necessary. Tragically, many hundreds lives are loss in Chile not from falling buildings and highways but from the resulting tsunami which their state of preparedness had missed out on the whole.
One lesson we can learn from the events in Chile and Haiti is the obvious need to be prepared for impending disaster at all times.
Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour says Jesus to his disciples when he foretold of impending disasters and if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved is Jesus assurance of his return for the sake of his elect (Matthew 24:22).

Build your life then on the Rock of Ages that cannot be shaken, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation.

I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete. Luke 6:47-49
