26 Jan: Australia Day Sunrise Prayer 2018 Success Hill on the Swan

January 26 @ 5:30 am - 6:30 am

It is suggested we join in saying The Lord’s Prayer at sunrise followed by quiet singing of The Lord’s Prayer – the Millennium version to tune of Auld Lang Syne.

As we mingle and pray and walk around the park we might continue to sing that magnificent prayer OR as an indication of unity to sing “Brother, let me be your servant” to each other (“Brother, sister let me serve you” if you prefer).

Parking is through the main entry but there is roadside parking along 7 th Ave further to the North alongside the reserve. Let’s just make sure we are not too noisy for the sake of the neighbours.

p.1

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread
And forgive our sins,
As we forgive each one of those who sins against us;
And lead us not to the time of trial
But deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. Repeat.

p.2

Let all the people say Amen
In every tribe and tongue;
Let every heart’s desire be joined
To see the kingdom come.

Let every hope and every dream
Be born in love again;
Let all the world sing with one voice,
Let the people say Amen.

p.3

Brother, let me be your servant.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

We are pilgrims on a journey.
We are brothers on the road.
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.

p.4

I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night time of your fear.
I will hold my hand out to you;
Speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping.
When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you.
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we’ve seen this journey through.

p.5

When we sing to God in heaven,
We shall find such harmony
Born of all we’ve known together
Of Christ’s love and agony.

Brother, let me be your servant.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

p.6

The King of Kings is born in Bethlehem and the heavens are open to wide-eyed shepherds.

Sing, dance, exchange gifts and good wishes. Forgive, be at peace with one another. There is something bigger than ourselves.

The King of Kings is born in Bethlehem.
