Abortion numbers increased due to economic downturn according to a report from Singapore.

The nation’s birth rate falls well below replacement level for some years despite very active government intervention to increase family size. The population growth has been sustained through increased migration intake particularly from China. Singapore has very liberal abortion policies that the population is accustomed to as moral standards anything that the government stamped its approval on.
